Another Camp Ready Win!

‍Last month, Ready to Succeed welcomed our newest cohort of 42 former foster youth into the Career Accelerator Program at Camp Ready. Over three days, Scholars from across California built community, gained confidence, and developed the skills and relationships that will support them throughout college and their careers.

‍While the semester may be over, the grind is just starting for some RTS Scholars. They are stepping out of their comfort zones by studying abroad this summer.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month.

The statistics surrounding former foster youth are hard to ignore:

• By age 21, 50% are unemployed or underemployed

• Only 4% will earn a college degree

• Just 1% will complete graduate school

• 1 in 4 will face homelessness or involvement with the justice system after aging out of care
