Can you believe it’s already March?
For RTS Scholars and Alumni balancing midterms, demanding work schedules, and big goals for the future, there’s also something exciting arriving in their inboxes: graduate school acceptance letters.
For many foster youth, the path to higher education is difficult. Fewer than 4% graduate from college, and only about 1% go on to earn a graduate degree. Often, this is due to a lack of mentors who can help them identify the right graduate programs, as well as the financial barriers that come with the application process.
For Scholars seeking opportunities in fields like law and healthcare, these degrees are not only crucial, but required for higher earning potential and leadership roles.
However, thanks to the opportunities you make possible through the Graduate School Pathways Program (GSPP), former foster youth don’t have to navigate this journey alone. They have access to mentorship, resources, and financial support that help them prepare for graduate school.
Last year, GSPP helped 17 foster youth gain acceptance into the graduate school of their choice, and that number continues to grow.
Keep reading to see your support in action and celebrate some of their recent graduate school acceptances!
Carol's Start at Law School
RTS Alumni Carol was recently accepted to Southwestern Law School! The guidance she received gave her the confidence to complete her application on time and ensure it stood out during a competitive review. Thank you for supporting her as she continues her journey toward a career in law.

Cris's Grad School Offers
Cris, a current senior at UCLA, has been a superstar this application season. Through GSPP, Cris received funding that allowed him to apply to more programs and choose the right school based on opportunity, not financial limitations.
Thanks to his hard work, and the support of donors like you, Cris has already received several offers of admission, including:
Both Carol's and Cris's dedication and achievements illustrates what is capable for foster youth when they have supporters like you holding open the door for them. Will you help the next generation of foster youth ready to follow in their footsteps?
